To contribute to the 100th birthday of quantum mechanics, Professor Dr. Sergei Suslov, Arizona State University, will visit the Thomas-Mann-Gymnasium from 15th December 2025\u00a0 through 19th December 2025:<\/p>\n
He will give lectures on the level of 9th classes, physics, on the atomic model, photons, energy quanta, energy levels, spectra. Professor Suslov will also give lectures on the level of 11th classes, physics, within the frame of so-called extra-curricular activities: The Bohr-Sommerfeld viewpoint will be elucidated and presented within recent pedagogical research projects on \u201eOld Quantum Mechanics by Bohr and Sommerfeld from a Modern Perspective\u201c and also addressing \u201eOganesson versus Uranium Hydrogen-like Ions and Beyond from the Viewpoint of Old Quantum Mechanics\u201c.<\/p>\n

During the Christmas break, there will be given the opportunity of an external seminar within the LMU focus on 100 years of quantum mechanics, to be held close to the site of the Arnold Sommerfeld Institute in Munich, Schellingstra\u00dfe \/ Amalienstra\u00dfe.<\/p>\n
Within this university part of the project and its seminar on quantum mechanics, also TMG alumni \u2013 and now university students \u2013 will be invited.<\/p>\n
A special excursion to Arosa will be organized during the Christmas break: In Arosa, Erwin Schr\u00f6dinger created basics of wave mechanics 100 years ago. The intention is include three advanced students from ASU to this second week. This contribution to the TMG website will be updated regularly. This is work in progress, further information will be given separately. The project is within continuation of successful events in the past:<\/p>\n
